how do i get people to do future work with me at imats? :)
Are you asking how you get to do work AT IMATS? As in doing demos? Or are you trying to get future work by networking at IMATS? Either way, I’d say:
- Know your shit!
- Be friendly and treat EVERYONE as if they are important (you never know when you might be talking to the next big thing in the industry)
- Business Cards!
- Be a little unique, if they don’t remember you for something you talked about/wore/etc. then they won’t think of you when they need somebody in the future.
- Nobody knows everything, and often times when working with someone they may want you to do certain things “their way”, asking the right questions about a new product or technique can actually be a big plus because they see you WANT to learn… That said, if you ask a very basic question then you may be blown off almost immediately as someone just starting out.
- Be who you are, be confident, and feel like you belong there.
